Speaker:  MTO, the officers will talk about the legal requirement to perform a daily inspection for a commercial motor vehicle and what defects need to be looked for, etc.   They will also provide an update of new information available.

In addition, as of July 1, 2018 drivers of vehicles requiring an A-F class licence, vehicles requiring a Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) and road building machines are prohibited from having any presence of alcohol in their blood when behind the wheel of these types of vehicles. These drivers are also prohibited from having any presence of cannabis in their system as well as other drugs that can be detected by an oral fluid screening device. Please remember that trucks with a gross weight or registered gross weight of 4,500 kilograms or more require a CVOR, and as such drivers of these trucks are prohibited from having any presence of alcohol in their blood when behind the wheel.
